Pressure Relief Stripping System

A patented system is designed to eliminate ram to ram staging of couplings on live high-pressure wells.

This system can be applied to any high pressure wells that it would be desirable to eliminate ram to ram staging operations of couplings while pulling or installing tubulars into or out of the well-bore while maintaining extreme high-pressures at surface.

Applications:

HP Completions - 3000 p.s.i. - 20,000 p.s.i.

HP Workovers - 3000 p.s.i. - 20,000 p.s.i.

HP UBD - 3000 p.s.i. - 10,000 + p.s.i.

Any application where it is desirable to move pipe under pressure in / out of the well bore

Requirements:

1.) Sufficient sub-structure or derrick height (such as off-shore applications) to facilitate additional blowout preventers beyond what would be required for conventional high-pressure snubbing operations. (Can be easily rigged up with any self-contained hydraulic workover unit set up for high-pressure snubbing.)

2.) A snubbing unit designed to support anticipated loads and guiding requirements necessary to safely perform normal manipulation of tubulars at the anticipated surface pressures.

Reduced costs / Increased Safety

A Few of the Benefits:

1.) Reduced rig time - trip times can be reduced by as much as 75%

2.) Reduced working pressures directly under the rig or snubbing unit floor

3.) Reduces the need for high-pressure pumping units for equalizing between rams while staging each coupling

4.) Reduces down time and repair expenses associated with human error. (example: driller pulls into rams)

5.) Reduces the probability of hydrates and associated problems

6.) Can be installed pressure tested and operational in a few short hours

Anyone that has ever experienced high-pressure conventional snubbing operations can tell you how ugly things can get in a real hurry when it comes to staging tool joints. Hydrates, damaged BOPs and extremely slow trip times can just be the beginning. Piston Well Service's patented high-pressure stripping system is specifically designed to reduce or completely eliminate these problems by effectively reducing (example) a 12,000 p.s.i surface pressure well into a 3000 p.s.i. well.
